I get asked this question all the time.
Which SEO course do you recommend?
That’s a hard question for me to answer because SEO is such a vast and difficult topic to teach.
The world of SEO encompasses so many different areas and the field is constantly changing. It’s hard for any course to keep up and stay relevant.
This is why I rarely purchase any SEO courses.

tl;dr Summary
There is one training out there though, that has returned my investment many times over.
But, it’s only open one or two times a year at most.
And that’s the Authority Hacker Pro course by Gael Breton and Mark Webster.
Technically, it’s not purely a SEO course. It’s actually more of a “level up” your website training with SEO being a major focus.
In this Authority Hacker Pro review, I’m going to show you why I recommend it despite the hefty price tag.
Here is what we are going to cover.
- What Is Authority Hacker Pro?

What Is Authority Hacker Pro?
Authority Hacker Pro – also referred to as “AH Pro”—is an advanced authority site video training course from Gael Breton and Mark Webster of AuthorityHacker.com.
Ever since I discovered their blog, I became a lifelong fan because of how in-depth their articles were. I’m also a dedicated listener of their podcast and I typically catch one of their weekly episodes while in the car.
Because of that, I happily joined Authority Hacker Pro when it first launched in 2016.
Their beginner course, The Authority Site System (TASS) teaches you how to build an authority site from the ground up that gets organic traffic and makes affiliate income. (You actually get free access to TASS as an AH Pro member)
This advanced training is the natural progression to TASS and focuses on scaling and taking your authority site to the next level.
It does this through over 400 video lessons across various modules from keyword research, email marketing, monetization strategies, conversion rate optimization, link building, and a number of other aspects of online marketing.
The training also includes dozens of copy and paste templates for automations, landing pages, and workflow systems to help you implement the content as fast as possible, as well as detailed SOP’s to outsource everything if necessary.
Who Is Authority Hacker Pro For?
Where The Authority Site System is designed to help anyone interested in the authority site and affiliate model build their first profitable website, Authority Hacker Pro does not specifically cater to those people.
Instead, it’s for anyone who has an established authority site (or portfolio of authority sites) and has reached a plateau in their business or doesn’t know which direction to take their site to grow it further.
The course is made up of numerous advanced blueprints that skip over the basic concepts of starting a site and focuses solely on actionable strategies and techniques that would only be applicable to established online marketers.
In other words, if you don’t currently have at least one authority site that generates considerable traffic and income, you probably won’t benefit much from this training.
The only exception to that rule is if you’re an in-house marketer, agency, or freelancer that plans to grow client websites using the blueprints found inside this training.
There is a major focus on link building in the training itself. So if you are currently struggling to build links to your site, there’s plenty here to sink your teeth into.
But keep in mind that Gael and Mark deal in white-hat link-building methods only. So if you’re looking for black-hat strategies, you will have to look elsewhere.

What Are Some Of My Favorite Things About Authority Hacker Pro
Best Part #1: Everything is completely systemized
What I’ve been impressed with the most about AH Pro is how systemized everything is. This means everything is reproducible and you can even use them to train your own VA’s to implement any of the strategies.
Take the Shotgun Skyscraper Blueprint as an example.
This is a highly effective link-building technique with a lot of moving parts necessary to implement it efficiently.
The Blueprint is super detailed and goes step-by-step into how to implement each step of the process.
For the parts that might be tedious and require a lot of manual work, Mark and Gael have even designed their own tools (spreadsheets and even simple web apps) to help automate some of the more complicated tasks.
As an example, I love the Data Management section of the blueprint which helps you track your results and helps you avoid outreaching to the same sites multiple times.
This is not something immediately obvious that you would need, but Mark and Gael have already gone through this pain and save you from having to go through this yourself.
Just simple processes like that are what make AH Pro so invaluable.
Best Part #2: It’s a flexible training system
Most online courses are linear in the way they teach, meaning each lesson is designed to be consumed in sequential order.
There’s nothing wrong with that, of course. Most training environments require an ordered approach because you have to do things in a specific order to get optimal results.
Authority Hacker Pro is one of the exceptions, however. Each blueprint is essentially a self-contained mini-course, and for the most part, you don’t need to complete one blueprint to qualify for the next. You get to pick your poison, so to speak.
I say “for the most part” because some blueprints complement each other well, such as the following:
- ‘Building Your Editorial Team’ and ‘Editorial System’
- ‘Creating Info Products’ and ‘Evergreen Funnel’
- ‘The Shotgun Skyscraper’ and ‘HARO’
Even then, the beauty of this “plug and play” system is that even if you’re part-way through the process, such as already having an editorial team but no plan for them to execute, you can go straight to the training you need.
Granted, this could be a negative for those who prefer a structured learning environment that offers a more linear approach, but I doubt it would work for this particular course given that members are inherently at different stages in their business.
Best Part #3: Gael and Mark actually walk the walk
If you’re reading this review, you’re probably already familiar with the creators of the course; Gael and Mark.
Both the Authority Hacker blog and podcast are among the industry leaders when it comes to SEO and online marketing, largely thanks to their unique ideas, insanely detailed content pieces, and honest approach to marketing.
Most importantly, they are one of the most transparent and credible people you’ll come across in the SEO community. Not the least because they publicly share successful sites from their own portfolio — such as healthambition.com. Just listen to a couple of podcast episodes, and this comes across very clearly.
As you go through the blueprints in the training, you’ll soon realize that everything shown is being used successfully by Gael and Mark in their own business. And they often demonstrate what they teach through one of their live sites.
Ultimately, everything inside this course is based on years of continuous testing and experimentation, and they only include stuff that they have actually proven to work.
Best Part #4: The Facebook group is pure GOLD
You’ll often hear that the most valuable aspect of enrolling in a course is gaining access to a community of like-minded individuals.
As cheesy as it sounds, that couldn’t be more true for the Authority Hacker Pro Facebook group.
The group has close to 2.0k members at the time of writing, many of which own a network of highly successful authority sites earning anywhere from 6, 7, and even 8 figures per year.
Unlike many of the free marketing and SEO groups, you often come across, getting into this one requires a considerable upfront investment which means it’s only filled with people who seriously have their head in the game.
As a result, the quality of daily discussions and advice is substantially higher than practically any other channel when it comes to building authority sites, free or paid.

What Are The Annoying Things About Authority Hacker Pro
Bad Things #1: You’ll need to invest in (sometimes pricey) tools
As you go through the different blueprints inside Authority Hacker Pro, it’s safe to say you’ll find no shortage of tool recommendations.
Redesigning your site? You’ll need a tool.
Doing keyword research? You’ll need a tool.
Setting up email outreach? You get the point.
While there are often cheaper alternatives to what’s being recommended in the course, it’s more focused on getting the job done properly and efficiently. The tool recommendations 100% reflect that.
I believe this is the right approach for an advanced training product, but it’s only fair to point out that the cost of admission is only that… the cost of admission.
To give you an idea of how these additional costs might stack up, some of the more expensive recommendations include:
- Ahrefs starts at $99 per month
- Asana starts at $15 per month (per user)
- Mailshake starts at $29 per month (per user)
- Deadline Funnel starts at $39 per month
- ActiveCampaign starts at $29 per month (1,000 subs)
- And so on…
You can see how your monthly outgoings can quickly start to add up if you’re going through and applying multiple blueprints.
Of course, everything in the course is designed to help you generate more traffic, leads, and sales in the long run. So you should consider these extra expenses more as an investment. And you might already be paying for these tools already since most of them are the best in class.
Bad Thing #2: Some Blueprints have become outdated
The more advanced side of online marketing evolves at a very fast rate, particularly because strategies often rely on a cocktail of tools and platforms that tend to have a high turnover rate.
And Authority Hacker Pro covers so many different aspects of online marketing in such depth that keeping everything up-to-date becomes a pretty hard task.
So there have been blueprints over the years that have become so outdated that they’ve been removed entirely. #RIPPinterestBluepint
But as their flagship training program, Authority Hacker Pro does get updated on a fairly regular basis. And Gael and Mark have even rebuilt some of their blueprints from scratch just to keep things fresh.
The two latest Blueprints that have been added to AH Pro are the On-Page SEO Blueprint and the Site Speed Blueprint.
A Look Inside Authority Hacker Pro
The Authority Hacker Pro course currently consists of 18 advanced blueprints that typically contain a dozen or so lessons spread over a series of modules — including blueprints that are sold individually such as The Authority Site System and The Shotgun Skyscraper blueprint.
They cover unique strategies around topics such as building out an editorial team, creating information products, promoting your blog content and building powerful backlinks at scale.
In this section, I’ll detail exactly what’s included in each blueprint, how it ties in with the rest of the course material, as well as my thoughts on the quality of the training along the way.
Shotgun Skyscraper Blueprint
Anyone who’s anyone in the SEO world will be familiar with Brian Dean’s Skyscraper Technique; a white-hat approach to link building that many marketers—including myself—have long adopted.
In this blueprint, Mark Webster takes the technique up a notch (or six) by building a scalable system he calls the “Shotgun Skyscraper”. It works by taking the same basic concepts of the original technique but rebuilt from the ground up with systematization and automation at its core.
The training takes you through everything from the fundamentals of Skyscraper to building a qualified prospecting list and handling the different types of responses to secure a link.
This is one of the few blueprints that were made available as a standalone course and has since become one of my personal favorites in Authority Hacker Pro.
Lessons (not including sub-lessons):
- Shotgun Skyscraper 101
- Keywords & Content
- Gathering Prospects
- Data Management
- Initial Outreach
- Negotiation
- Advanced Tactics
- SOPs and Job Descriptions
HARO Blueprint
HARO—or ‘Help A Reporter Out’—offers another angle on link building that is still vastly underutilized, and it involves reaching out to reporters who are need of sources for a news story.
This method can land you some seriously juicy links on very reputable and established websites such as the Huffington Post or Buzzfeed, but it’s also very time consuming if you don’t have a system in place.
The HARO Blueprint is exactly that, a step-by-step system for squeezing as many links as possible from the HARO platform with the least amount of input possible, and *spoiler alert*, this does involve some outsourcing.
Lessons included:
- HARO 101
- Initial Setup
- Prospecting Criteria
- Prospecting Criteria Examples
- Prospecting in Action
- How to Respond
- Examples of Successful Responses
- Researching Answers
- Tracking Results
- Outsourcing and Scaling
Guest Posting Blueprint
Guest posting—or submitting content to other websites—has long been the go-to white hat method of link building and traffic generation. The problem? It’s notoriously hard to scale.
The good news is, it’s not impossible. In fact, Mark and Gael once built an entire marketing agency on guest posting alone, reaching upwards of 100 guest post placements each month.
The Guest Posting Blueprint shares much of the same characteristics as the Shotgun Skyscraper blueprint, in that thrives on optimized processes and scalable outreach. If you’re looking to build a guest posting machine to grow your site along with exact steps from prospecting to tracking, it’s all here.
Lessons (not including sub-lessons):
- Guest Posting 101
- Prospecting Strategies
- Email Prospecting
- Initial Sending
- Negotiation
- Submissions & Tracking
Editorial System Blueprint
It’s no secret that the fastest way to grow an authority site is to build a dedicated team of content writers around it. The quicker you publish, the quicker you rank, and the quicker you can start making money.
The problem for most people, however, is that managing such a team can quickly become a full-time job. Building a system that not only gives writers a clear direction but also squeezes the most value out of both yours and their time is no easy feat.
The Editorial System Blueprint helps you do exactly that through a project management tool called Asana. You’ll see how to use advanced configurations and pre-written content templates to pump out content faster than you ever thought possible.
Lessons (not including sub-lessons):
- Introduction to the Editorial System
- Editorial System Walkthrough
- Editorial System General Writing Guidelines
- Creating an Asana Work Environment
- Day to Day Usage
- Content Templates (8 Types)
Keyword Research Blueprint
Keywords lay the foundation of any authority site. Not only do they dictate the type of content you produce, but they dictate how quickly you will rank in Google (if at all) and how much traffic you’ll ultimately pull in.
Most guides on keyword research will teach you to use the traditional ‘seed keyword’ approach to finding keyword opportunities, meaning you plug random keywords in order to generate a list.
The keyword research blueprint doesn’t totally ignore this approach, but it largely focuses on ‘reverse-engineering’ your competitors websites to see what’s already working for them and “steal” the best keywords for your own site.
If you’ve never done keyword research this way before, this blueprint alone is worth the price of the training. It’s a real game changer.
Lessons (not including sub-lessons):
- Introduction to Keyword Research
- Preparing Keyword Research Documents
- Keyword Research Tactics
- Implementation
Evergreen Funnel Blueprint
A marketing funnel is all about sending prospects through a sequence of events designed to convert them into a customer. This is used everywhere in marketing, and it’s an equally effective tool for authority sites.
The benefit of building a funnel for a website, however, is that with a bit of technical know-how and a sprinkle of black magic, you can automate this process for each individual prospect from start to finish. That’s right, no more manual product launches.
The Evergreen Funnel Blueprint takes you through the overall structure of your funnel, how to sell and deliver products through your funnel, and most importantly, how to turn all this into a fully hands-off evergreen system.
Lessons included:
- Funnel Structure
- Product Delivery Setup
- New Customer Setup
- Shopping Cart Setup
- Building Your Sales Page
- Evergreen Scarcity Setup
- Angle 1 – The After Opt in Sale
- Angle 2 – The Evergreen Launch
- Scaling With Retargeting
Some of the Other Authority Hacker Pro Blueprints
I’ve only touched on a few of the blueprints above based on what I found most helpful, but it’s only fair to mention the other blueprints which are equally as well put together:
- On-Page SEO Blueprint: Covers all aspects of on-Page SEO which will help your content rank higher in Google.
- Site Speed Blueprint: How to improve your site’s page speed without a developer.
- Growth Hacks Blueprint: Contains a collection of various tips and tricks that don’t quite fall into any other blueprints and can be implemented standalone.
- Build an Editorial Team Blueprint: How to find, hire, and train content writers for building out a high-powered editorial team.
- Website Sale Blueprint: How to maximize the value of your site, what’s involved in selling a site, and which channels to consider for the sale.

- Email Marketing Blueprint: How to effectively run email marketing for your business, including setting up advanced email automations.

Authority Hacker Pro Pricing
Authority Hacker Pro is quite exclusive and opens up very infrequently.
And the price for the course seems to go up quite a bit every time it opens. (I initially signed up for $38.80 a month!)
AH Pro will be open from April 18th, 2021, and closes on April 26, 2021.
The price to get in for this launch is a one-time payment of $2497. Or 12 payments for $279.
It does come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
If the AH Pro is closed when you read this, you can still purchase The Authority Site System separately instead.
Final Thoughts
Authority Hacker Pro is the best course I have personally invested in for learning systems to improve my SEO.
There is so much noise out there related to SEO that’s floating around but Gael and Mark are two people I religiously follow.
They actually use all these methods to build white-hat links to their sites and they are actually transparent with their results which is very rare.
Plus the way they have systemized everything is amazing and it has transformed the way I do things.
Yes, the course is not cheap and you have to invest in some additional tools to follow all the strategies taught.
But to me, it’s well worth the investment and you should definitely try to get in whenever it opens.
